My first week in Kenya was good but rough at the same time. I missed home, family, friends, & church. Although, being remembered by the majority of the kids here filled my heart with so much joy!
One day I decided to join the kids during their morning devotion and I’m so glad I did. Before starting the lesson, they sang ‘Our God’ by Chris Tomlin, and I tried with everything I had in me not to burst into tears…hearing 30+ orphans sing “And if our God is for us, then who could ever stop us? And if our God is with us, then what can stand against?” just broke me. These children truly believe that God is a warrior fighting for them and it is beyond encouraging to see that day in and day out.
It’s amazing the things children of unshakable faith can teach you. And that’s just one of the ways the Lord has shown me how good & mighty He is – that He can enable this many children to sing praises to His name, even after all the tragedy they’ve been through. I feel blessed beyond belief. Matthew 18:3
